A two-week summer course in “Biotechnology and Instrument Analysis” is offered from August 28 to September 8 at the College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University (Tainan, Taiwan) for graduate students, technicians and faculties.
Week I (Instrument Analysis) Aug 28~Sep 1
Week II (Biotechnology) Sep 4~Sep 8

Topics:

1.  Quantitative PCR and Pyrosequencing

2.  Next-Generation Sequencing

3.  High performance microscopy

4.  Cross experience with Biotechnology companies in Taiwan 

5.  Cross culture experience with historical sites in Tainan city

Topics:

1.  Molecular Biology

  - RNA isolation and Quantitative RT-PCR

  - Protein isolation and Western Blot

  - Plasmid DNA isolation and Transfection




2.  Animal Model

  - Basic Biology in Rodent

  - Restrain, injection and infection

  - Administration, anesthesia and euthanasia in mouse

  - Anatomy and sampling

Remark:

1. The course fee is waived. But all participants need to pay their own travel, housing and living expense.

2. The Week_I and Week_II programs can be registered separately. For each complete one-week course,

 NCKU will provide certificate for each participant.
