  • Subunit: Homodimer. Interacts with H3K4me3 and to a lesser extent with H3K4me2, the interaction augments HBO1 acetylation activity on H3 tails. Component of the HBO1 complex composed at least of ING4 or ING5, KAT7/HBO1, MEAF6, and one of JADE1, JADE2 and JADE3. Interacts with EP300, RELA and TP53; these interactions may be indirect. Interacts with EGLN1 Sequence caution: Sequence=AAG43153.1; Type=Frameshift; Positions=240, 243; 5 PDB 3D structures from [IMAGE] and Proteopedia [IMAGE] for ING4: 2K1J (3D) [IMAGE] 2M1R (3D) [IMAGE] 2PNX (3D) [IMAGE] 2VNF (3D) [IMAGE] 4AFL (3D) [IMAGE]
  • Function:
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Summary: ING4_HUMAN, Q9UNL4 Function: Component of the HBO1 complex which has a histone H4-specific acetyltransferase activity, a reduced activity toward histone H3 and is responsible for the bulk of histone H4 acetylation in vivo. Through chromatin acetylation it may function in DNA replication. May inhibit tumor progression by modulating the transcriptional output of signaling pathways which regulate cell proliferation. Can suppress brain tumor angiogenesis through transcriptional repression of RELA/NFKB3 target genes when complexed with RELA. May also specifically suppress loss of contact inhibition elicited by activated oncogenes such as MYC. Represses hypoxia inducible factor's (HIF) activity by interacting with HIF prolyl hydroxylase 2 (EGLN1) Gene Ontology (GO): 4 molecular function terms: About this table GO ID Qualified GO term Evidence PubMed IDs GO:0003713 transcription coactivator activity IDA 16387653 GO:0005515 protein binding IPI 12750254 GO:0008270 zinc ion binding IEA -- GO:0035064 methylated histone residue binding IDA 16728974 [IMAGE] Find genes that share ontologies with ING4 About GenesLikeMe Phenotypes:
